Thank Goodness It’s Friday…1/17/14

Thank Goodness It’s Friday!

Yesterday I spoke about focusing on your golden 10.  And while I firmly believe you have a golden 10, I also know that there are days when many struggle to even think of one.  If you are having one of those days, I wanted to share this poem with you.  Funny, I was reminded of it from an Apple iPad commercial:

O Me! O Life!

  by Walt Whitman

O Me! O life!... of the questions of these recurring;
Of the endless trains of the faithless—of cities fill’d with the foolish;
Of myself forever reproaching myself, (for who more foolish than I, and who  more faithless?)
Of eyes that vainly crave the light—of the objects mean—of the struggle ever renew’d;
Of the poor results of all—of the plodding and sordid crowds I see around me;
Of the empty and useless years of the rest—with the rest me intertwined;
The question, O me! so sad, recurring—What good amid these, O me, O life?

                                                        Answer.

That you are here—that life exists, and identity;
That the powerful play goes on, and you will contribute a verse.

That the powerful play goes on and you will contribute a verse.  Remember that.  No matter how you feel, you have something to contribute to this world and more than likely it is far greater than you ever imagined.

Be great today…. contribute a verse.
