Thank Goodness It’s Monday!
It’s St. Patrick’s Day and it is now officially March Madness as the NCAA Tournament field has been set and tomorrow the most famous tournament in the world starts play. Why does almost everyone love March Madness? There are probably many reasons, but I think the one that sticks out the most is the fact that anyone, on any given day can be focused and determined enough to seize their moment, win their bg game and even make a run through a couple of rounds of the tournament. In short, the Cinderella Story. That is what is so exciting about March Madness. It’s a single elimination tournament that means the best, most focused, most determined team of that DAY will win the game.
What if we approached everyday and every action of our lives like we were the 15 seed playing the number 2 seed in the opening round? What if we became so focused and applied all of our effort into living in the moment, that nothing else mattered? How great would our work be….How much more meaning would our relationships have…..how much joy and beauty would we see in the world. The world would literally change.
You see, the reality is we should have that kind of intensity and focus when it comes to life. We should take the time to breath it all in. And we should focus on ach task at hand with the same passion and intensity of the players who will take the floor over the next couple of weeks. because time is really short. Those players have only one game at a time. We only have a few short years to see and do all that is before us. Robert Brault said, “Life is short, God’s way of encouraging a bit of focus.” Are you focused?
Go out and win your first round game today and then get up tomorrow and do the same thing. You may only get this one shot……make it count.
