Thank Goodness It’s…..is a series of workday post meant to inspire and help you get through your hectic day. The topics, length, and quality will always vary, but I hope you will get something out of at least one post each week. These post started as emails to a group of employees in Wellington, Florida. It was recommended that they be put together in a blog, so here they are. I am always open to suggestions, ideas, topics, or any other information!

Tom Amburgey is Chief Information Officer for the City of Hallandale Beach in South Florida. As CIO, Mr. Amburgey is a member of the senior management team and is responsible for all technology and communication services, including hardware and software infrastructure, telecommunications, internal and external web services and portals, a public broadcasting channel, GIS, physical security and much more. In his career, Mr. Amburgey has overseen multiple technology initiatives including the installation of a city-wide broadband wireless mesh network, the internal build-out of a new Gold LEED certified City Hall, and many open data and transparent government projects. Mr. Amburgey was named one of Computerworld’s 2011 Premier 100 IT Leaders and has spoken on various technology topics at conferences all around the world. Mr. Amburgey received his BA from Palm Beach Atlantic University.

Mr. Amburgey is married and has 3 children.
